Mai 2007 : IDB marine shipyard moves away !

IDB marine shipyard settles in TREGUNC, near the "Chantiers Moulins Mer", in a largest place, in order to increase its production.

The prototype of Malango 8.70 took part to the Obélix Trophy regatta

Its new owners - who prepare Transquadra 2008 - began the take in hand of their sailboat during this regatta.

Malango pays in compensated time for its original design : consequently Malango run with boats much larger.

In spite of this handicap, and with a standard rigging (aluminum mast and dacron sails), Malango (8.70 m - 29 ft) regularly finished in real time before sailboats such as: JPK 9.60, J 105 and First 34.7…!

The compensated time classification is less favorable, but this regatta demonstrate the potential of this original sailboat designed for a day or a week end sailing... .

March 16 2007 : Malango certified in class "B"
