Malango 8.70

The new design of Pierre ROLLAND

Fast, clever, comfortable....

Malango 8.70 is first an easy sailboat, designed for a day or a weekend sailing...

Malango 8.70 offers an amazing cockpit which has been designed in two parts : one at the aft for sailing pleasures, one in the center to propose a secure farniente or discovery of the sea.

Malango 8.70 can fulfil any sailing desire : family sailing or competitive racing...

The interior of Malango 8.70 proposes luminous accommodation able to receive a family for a week end (4 berths - a kitchen with a sink and a two burners gaz hob, a navigation table and a separate marine toilet).

Between her two rudders which allow an exceptional road stability, Malango 8.70 hides her inflatable tender who can get out or in with a single rope.

Her self tacking jib is very easy for sailing.

The 'Malango 8.70 project' has been prepared during two years beetween Denis Bourgigot and Pierre ROLLAND to obtain a stable and powerfull hull, designed for offshore racing, able to provide a high level of performance in a very secure boat.

Three versions are available : fix keel or pivoting keel for Malango 8.70.

Staccato or Ker-O-Zen ? Fix keel or swinging keel ?

Comaparatif Staccato / Ker-O-Zen

On May 03 2008 take the opportunity to compare , between Concarneau and "les Glenan", two Malango 870 :

The same boats but Staccato as a fix keel and Ker-O-Zen as a swinging keel.

With 10 to 15 knots of wind from SE, we were able to compare the two Malango 870, from upwind to downwind. Heading, speed, nothing has helped to differentiate both as the performances were comparable.

Anchoring at the "Glenan", the two Malango 870 were pulling their tender out for the pleasure of childrens...

Then, how to choose ?.... When come the time to approach the beach, may be you could opt for the pivoting keel ...and beach to have a quiet night...
